Night Terrors

Soft Pastel, 2023

This drawing captures the contrast between light and darkness within my bedroom. The illuminated closet serves as a focal point. I sought to create both physical and emotional depth within the pictorial space. Additionally, the scattered objects evoke a sense of disarray and unease. This piece feels both nostalgic and foreboding, echoing the tension between safety and fear that is often felt in childhood. The glowing closet door acts as a metaphor for curiosity and the imagination that thrives in darkness, the same imagination that once turned ordinary shadows into sources of mystery.
