This self-portrait shows me stepping out of my comfort zone, allowing me to explore figurative painting as a means of transformation. I depict myself blowing a bubble that contains a distorted reflection of my own face. When I exhale, it shows a release of breath, emotion and self perception. The bubble represents change and fragility. As the bubble floats away, it carries with it a piece of who I once was. This symbolizes the ongoing process of shedding old versions of myself to make room for new ones. This piece reflects both vulnerability and empowerment. It acknowledges that change allows us to evolve.
